For easy and flexible bike use, shared rental bicycles are available at Leiden Centraal. These bikes can be unlocked via the Donkey Republic app, allowing you to rent and return them conveniently at designated locations around the city. Please note that availability depends on where bikes have been parked, as they may be located at different nearby drop-off points.

In addition, traditional bicycle rental is available within approximately a 15-minute walking distance from the hotel. Please contact the front desk if you would like directions or assistance.

Children aged 4–12 can stay for €10 per night by sharing the bed with the accompanying guests. Children older than 12 are not allowed to stay in the same room, and a second room will need to be booked for these guests. Regardless of age, a city tax of €4.70 per child per night applies.

Night's rest, order & safety

Night’s rest applies from 23:00 to 07:00.

We expect all guests, residents, and staff to treat each other with respect and to ensure a quiet and comfortable environment during these hours.

The hotel reserves the right to exercise its right of admission in the event of non-compliance with the night’s rest or in case of disrespectful behaviour towards other guests, employees, or third parties.

Persons not registered as hotel guests are only permitted to enter guest rooms with prior approval from reception. Access may be refused at the hotel’s discretion. Unregistered persons are not allowed to stay in guest rooms between 23:00 and 07:00.

Smoking & open fire

Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere inside the hotel. Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas outside the building.

If a violation is detected, any resulting costs, including a €300 fee, will be charged to the responsible guest. Should a fire alarm be triggered due to unauthorized smoking or if smoke detectors have been tampered with, the hotel accepts no liability. Any costs incurred for emergency services, including the fire department or security services, will be charged directly to the responsible party.

Open fires and the use of candles are strictly prohibited throughout the hotel.

Please note that it is not possible to store bicycles inside the hotel. However, there are several convenient bicycle parking options nearby. The closest facility is Fietsenstalling Laurentz, located just around the corner from the hotel, only a one-minute walk away.

In addition, you will find two bicycle parking facilities on either side of Leiden Centraal. On the right-hand side there is an open-air bicycle parking area, while on the left-hand side there is a guarded facility offering extra security.

The hotel is located approximately 200 metres from the station. After exiting the station, head south-east via Stationsweg towards Stationsplein. Then turn left into Ballonstraat, where the hotel is located.

The nearest airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. From the airport, there are frequent direct Intercity trains to Leiden Centraal. Trains depart every 10 to 15 minutes and the journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

All trains in the direction of Leiden Centraal, Den Haag Centraal or Vlissingen via Leiden can be used as long as they stop at Leiden Centraal. Once you arrive at Leiden Centraal the hotel is only 200 metres away on foot.

A taxi from Schiphol to the hotel takes around 25 minutes and costs approximately €80.
