The taste of Austria

Austria is known for its great gastronomic tradition, ranging from hearty dishes to delicious desserts. You must try this and much more:

Wiener Schnitzel: A famous Austrian dish where breaded and deep-fried veal is served. It is often eaten with potato salad or fried potatoes.

Sachertorte: A delicious chocolate cake with apricot jam, covered with a thick layer of chocolate icing. Sachertorte is a classic Viennese dessert - also perfect as a souvenir.

Apple strudel: A traditional Austrian dessert consisting of thin pastry filled with apples, raisins, cinnamon and sugar. Served with powdered sugar and vanilla sauce or with vanilla ice cream.

Käsespätzle: An Austrian version of cheese-covered noodles. Spätzle, a type of egg noodle, is layered with cheese and onions and baked in the oven.

Potato salad with pumpkin seed oil: A potato salad prepared with pumpkin seed oil, vinegar, onions and spices. The pumpkin seed oil gives the salad a characteristic taste.
