Stuttgart boasts numerous historic landmarks and a wealth of cultural attractions.
The heart of Stuttgart, the capital of Baden-Württemberg, beats at Schlossplatz, home to the impressive late-Classical Königsbau. The adjacent Königsbau-Passagen and Königstraße offer excellent shopping. Nearby stands the Stiftskirche, a Stuttgart landmark. This 15th-century church is a venue for popular concerts, including the International Organ Summer in July/August. The Stuttgart State Opera is located in the Upper Palace Gardens. Enjoy the unique performances of the renowned orchestra and one of Germany’s oldest opera choirs. Next to it lies the impressive State Gallery, with 12,000 square meters of exhibition space, including one of the most significant Picasso collections in the world. All attractions are within easy walking distance of the Steigenberger Graf Zeppelin Hotel, located across from the main train station.
Car enthusiasts should not miss a visit to the Porsche or Mercedes-Benz Museum. These are accessible via public transportation in just a few minutes. A spectacular view can be enjoyed from the Stuttgart TV Tower, which was the world’s first TV tower built using reinforced concrete and served as the model for TV towers constructed worldwide thereafter.
The airport and the Stuttgart Trade Fair are 15 km away and easily accessible via the direct S-Bahn connection via Stuttgart Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).
