    Things to know about yoga

Yoga is a philosophical teaching from India that is thousands of years old. Its roots lie in meditative immersion, in which the mind and body come to rest through breathing exercises (called pranayama).

Indian yogis often meditate for hours to become one with their consciousness. The adoption of certain postures serves to improve concentration and stability. From the 15th century, this developed into the more physically demanding Hatha Yoga with its 84 "asanas", which are still taught in yoga courses around the world today. The best-known asanas include the "sun salutation", the "tree" and the headstand called "Shirshasana".

In the West, yoga first became popular in the 1960s as part of the New Age movement and has since gained more and more friends. In addition to traditional hatha yoga, numerous other yoga methods developed with different focuses. Are you looking for an effective and at the same time relaxing yoga in Frankfurt? European Yoga in Frankfurt with Feroze Khan

Yoga master Feroze Khan was born in India and discovered his passion for yoga while visiting the Bikram Yoga Center in New York. He trained as a yogi himself and soon founded his first own studio for yoga in Frankfurt. In addition, he regularly gives classes at the EU headquarters in Brussels, where many of Europe's leaders are among his enthusiastic students.

Feroze Khan teaches Bikram Yoga, also called "Hot Yoga", which was developed by Bikram Choudhury several decades ago. It combines the 26 classical asanas (postures) of Hatha Yoga with the ancient Indian breathing techniques of pranayama and kapalbhati to create a yoga class full of movement. A special feature of Bikram Yoga is the high room temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which additionally warms up the muscles and thus reduces the risk of muscle and tendon injuries. At the same time, the high temperature stimulates healthy sweating.
